Project overview.

Challenge.
PhD students exploring climate ventures needed to understand techno-economic analysis (TEA), especially for hardware products, but existing resources were expensive, fragmented, or too technical to learn asynchronously. There was a clear gap: how might we make TEA as accessible and intuitive as tools like the Business Model Canvas?
(03)
Result.
Sustain Tomorrow partnered with Stanford to turn a highly technical concept into a learnable experience by:
Defining a clearer, simpler approach to teaching TEA for early-stage innovators
Designing asynchronous curriculum modules and workbook-style tools students could apply directly to their ventures
Translating complex concepts into structured, self-guided learning experiences
Reimagining portions of the curriculum through expert-led podcast lessons to make technical topics easier to absorb
Iterating with faculty, experts, and users to improve clarity and usability
Solution
We created an eLearning curriculum designed to help students:
Learn and apply techno-economic analysis more easily
Use practical tools and workbooks to assess venture viability
Understand technical commercialization concepts without specialized prior training
Advance climate ventures through clearer, more accessible learning
Impact
The project created a repeatable model for transforming highly technical concepts into clear, engaging educational experiences that help audiences learn, apply, and act
